Exercise seat
I have been working out. Can you tell? I have this exercise seat called a BUMBO, and it helps me strengthen my muscles. Sometimes I have a hard time getting motivated to work out and I fuss about it, but I know it's good for my body so I do it anyway. My mom is pretty good at recognizing when I am ready to exercise for a while, and when I need a break. It's fun to watch daddy cook while I sit in my bumbo in the kitchen. I'm getting stronger every day.
Mom goes to teach
My mom had to go back to work, well, one of her jobs anyway. She leaves me with mema on Mondays and Wednesdays at lunchtime while she drives to Denton to teach at UNT. Mema and I have lots of fun, except for that bottle thing. I am still not sure about it and I like to make sure mema knows just how strong my lungs are, so sometimes I vocalize my discontent, but otherwise we have a great time together. We are settling into a routine though and I really like hanging out with her and great-grandaddy. I'm lucky to have them both! xo

Evil-Eying the Bottle
So my parents have been trying to introduce me to this new thing that delivers my mom's milk to me. It's called a "bottle" - I learn a new word every day in this household. Anyway, this bottle thing is interesting to me. The first time I tried it I was resistant, but I learned that it is actually okay to use sometimes. I overheard my mom saying that she has to go back to UNT next week to teach a class. But the tone in her voice was unsettling, and somehow I think she is not too happy about it. The second and third time I tried this bottle I actually learned that it's not so bad, but I can't figure out why my mom keeps evil-eying it. I mean, she's the one who had the idea to give me this new contraption, and now she is looking at it as if it's the devil. I am confused. I ate 2 full ounces from it tonight, and for some reason my mom was crying after I ate. Am I supposed to like this bottle thing or not?!? I sure hope my mom feels better about it soon. I'm going to be just fine.
Adventures of week 5
I have had a BIG week! I took my first trip to Northpark Mall and have already decided that my favorite store is Nordstrom. I am looking forward to many more shopping trips there with my Embee as I grow up. I got a new outfit from Gymboree and even sampled the sushi at Kona Grill.
I also met the Miller cousins this week. They brought Dickie's Bar-B-Q to my house and we had a fabulous time together. I got to hang out with my grandma Rah Rah and am looking forward to visiting her at the lake soon.

4 week check-up
On January 4th I went for my 4 week check-up. Now weighing 10lbs 12oz and at 22 3/8in I am in the 90th percentile for height and weight. My head circumference is in the 35th percentile, but that just means I'm perfect. I am focusing better now and I can follow my parent's faces when they move around the room. I can also smile, lift my head, and bear weight in my legs. Watch out friends and family, before you know it I'll be walking and talking. But my mom says she can wait for all that. She likes being able to still lift me with one arm. xo

2 week check-up
On December 21st I went for my 2 week check-up at the doctor. I gained a whole inch and almost a whole pound since my birth. At 9lb 2oz and 22in the doc gave me a clean bill of health. Thanks Dr. Brown.
