Merry Christmas!!!

My Christmas was fantastic and I hope yours was too!! I started the morning opening presents with mom and dad at our house and can you believe it, but mom and dad were awake before I was!! I guess I was exhausted from the week, but I was very excited to wake up to a fire in the living room and mom and dad on the couch helping me open my stocking and gifts. I got some clothes from dad, books from mom, toys from Santa, and I even got a few gifts in my stocking from Bayler and Jewel. Then we headed to Embee and Ro's house for Christmas breakfast where Rah Rah, Herb and Pete joined us along with the rest of mom's side of the family. There we ate, opened another stocking and even more presents. After my mid-day nap, we headed to Lake Texoma where Herb and Rah Rah live. The picture above was taken at the lake where I got to open even more presents.

My favorite gift of all was this chair from Pottery Barn. My dad got it for me and I like to use it as a jungle gym. The first thing I did was climb to the top of the arm rest to stand tall. I even fell off once, but it didn't bother me. I was so excited about my new chair that I had a great time playing with it.

By the end of the day I was pooped and just wanted to sleep. I crashed quickly and slept solid the whole night. It didn't hurt that mom let me nuzzle up with her in bed. I really like borrowing her pillow at night. Overall it was a great Christmas and I cannot wait until next year!! xoxo

Today is mommy's birthday. We started the day right by taking the 150 lbs of food collected at my party to the North Texas Food Bank. It was a cold morning and everyone at the food bank was very nice. I think I'll do this again next December.

They loaded my box onto a fork-lift. It was fun to see since I have never seen a fork-lift before.

1st Birthday Party!!

I raked it in for the North Texas Food Bank at my birthday party. I asked my guests to bring non-perishable food items in lieu of presents. I am taking the food to donate tomorrow morning.

Out of 447 pictures, my aunt Jenn finally got one of me smiling!!

My birthday cake was AMAZING!!! It looked beautiful and tasted delicious.

I had so much fun with all of my family and friends at my birthday party.

Silly aunt Jenn took this picture of my feet. :)

Chocolate Mousse Cake Smash!

MMMMM, I love chocolate mousse cake from Whole Foods Market. My birthday was yesterday and I turned 1 year old. I'm a big kid now. I had lunch with mema and grandad, then my family came to see me smash into a cake. I was so tired I missed Rah Rah and Herbie, but I am excited to see them Saturday. I had chocolate cake last night, but you can still vote on what flavor you think I should have Saturday at my birthday party. I'm going to celebrate my birthday all month!

Hanging of the Greens Service

I was an angel in the hanging of the greens service tonight at church. It was a late service that started at 7:00 pm (one hour past my bedtime). By the time I stood at the front with all of the kids my wings were broken and my halo was crooked, but I had a good time anyway. Mom had her hands full taking care of me so unfortunately she did not get a picture of me as a disheveled angel. It was fun staying up late and partying with the big kids.

Picture with Santa

Today I got my picture taken with Santa (see pic of the week -->).
I was not happy in that picture, but not because I didn't like Santa (I mean really, he's the man with all the presents), but because I fell and busted my lip just before the picture was taken. It's hard to see in the picture but the left side of my top lip is swollen and painful. Mom and dad gave me some ice to put on it so the swelling went down pretty quickly. Hopefully next year my picture with Santa will be prettier.

Gruene, TX

The weekend before Thanksgiving mom, Embee and I went to Gruene, TX. We stopped in Austin to pick up my cousins, Astrae, Mae and Milo. They have lots of animals in their back yard. They have chickens, a rooster, a pot belly pig named pepper, bunnies, a dog and a cat. I call it the Morgan petting farm. In Gruene we shopped, ate and relaxed. It was a nice get away before Thanksgiving. I am thankful for my family!

Happy Turkey Day!

I had a yummy Thanksgiving. We started the day with the Turkey Trot downtown, then went to Embee and Ro's house for dinner. After that we traveled to Lake Texoma to see Rah Rah and Herbie. I ate lots of great food. My favorite was dad's cheesy mashed potatoes. I am thankful for a wonderful family and great support in my life. xo

Last week I went to the holiday bazaar benefiting Nexus Recovery Center AKA my school and mom's work. It was fun and we bought some Christmas presents. Mom is trying to get the shopping done early, but I am looking forward spending the season shopping with her.

Halloween at school

Here is another picture from Halloween. Mom and I went trick or treating in the admin offices at work, and this picture shows mom's costume. She was a pumpkin grower/farmer. But she wouldn't sell me, just the other pumpkins on the farm. We had so much fun!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everybody. This was my first Halloween and I was a pumpkin. Friday we went trick or treating at school, had a party, and took a hayride to the pumpkin patch. I picked out a pie pumpkin and ate it fresh with my oatmeal. I also made some pumpkin onion curry soup. It was delicious. On Sunday (Halloween Day) I went trick or treating with my cousins Mack and Jack. Mack was Little Red Riding Hood and Jack was NASCAR driver #1. We had a great time. Mom edited my candy and I decided to donate it to her candy jar at work for the other kids to have. I'm looking forward to some candy next Halloween.

Austin College Homecoming 2010

I went to the lake this weekend to see Rah Rah, Herbie and Uncle Pete. Grandma Lea and Grandpa Jim were there too because they came to Texas to see Uncle Dylan play in Carrolton Friday night with his band, Polyphonic Spree. Saturday dad, mom and me went to Austin College in Sherman. That's where mom went to school. That's me in my cheerleader uniform in the picture above. I had so much fun and made my whole family laugh. I can't wait to see everyone again soon. xo

My first trip to the Texas State Fair

I went to the State Fair of Texas today. I walked, strolled and crawled all over the fair grounds while my parents chased after me. Mom brought my lunch, but I got to watch her and dad eat corny dogs, corn, fried salad, funnel cake, fried s'mores and a turkey leg. Their favorites, the corny dogs and fried s'mores. Mom says I will be able to try the foods when I am older. The state fair is a treat and we had so much fun. I saw exhibits, automobiles, animals and lots and lots of people. I can't wait to go back as a family tradition for years to come.

My First Letter Pumpkin

I created this piece of art today at school. I have been going into Ms. Shane's room in the mornings. She teaches the Infant II classroom with the big kids ages 12-24 months, and since I am almost a big kid, I have been playing with them. This is what we did in art this morning. It is my first letter pumpkin with glue and glitter. It is not for sale yet because mom has it hanging in her office window, but when she retires it I might put it up for auction. Let me know if you are interested in purchasing my first letter pumpkin.

Westapher Golf Tournament

I went with mom to the Westapher Golf Tournament benefitting Nexus today at the Golf Club of Dallas. We watched the afternoon flight tee off and I flirted with a few Nexus board members. It was great to get out of the office for a few hours.

Baptism

Today I was baptized at Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Minister Sherry and my cousin Janie Sue (who also happens to be a minister) officiated the baptismal part of the church service together. Janie brought water back from the Jordan River from her trip to Israel and they used the holy water to sprinkle on my head. The dress I wore was Grandma Rah Rah's dress that she was baptized in. My whole family was there and it was so exciting. I stayed awake during the entire service, even though it was my nap time. We ate Luna De Noche for lunch and everyone was there. It was a great day to be surrounded by family. xo

iShow Photography Exhibit

I went to the iShow photography exhibit in the design district yesterday. My dad's buddy Ryan had some pictures displayed and they were awesome. All of the photos at the exhibit were taken on an iPhone (as were the pictures above). I had so much fun and the gallery director even gave me a stuffed dog (pictured above). Thanks Bert. We will be back for more exhibits soon.

10 Months Old and Baptism

I am officially 10 months old today! AND I am getting baptized Sunday by my cousin Janie Sue. Janie has water from the Jordan River that she brought back from her trip to Israel. She will use the water to sprinkle on my head when I get baptized this weekend. My dad's family is coming in from out of town and all of my mom's family will be there too. I am excited for a fun, family weekend.

Happy Birthday DADDY!!

My DAD is 35 today. I made him a card for his birthday, AND I helped mom make him a video montage of my first year of life and of his 34th year of life. It is a great video and depicts a lot of footage of us together. I love my dad so much and wish him the happiest and most special birthday ever!! xo

9 Month photo shoot

Here are a few of the photos from my 9 month photo shoot. I will upload more to shutterfly this afternoon. This was such a fun shoot and I love my Halloween costume!

Cereal

This was shot about 6 weeks ago. I learned to eat from Bayler and Jewel, but now I eat cereal puffs with my hands.

Pee Pie

This footage was taken a few weeks ago while I was playing pee pie with daddy. He love this game. We laugh so hard every time we play, it never gets old!

Bubble Storm

I had so much fun in the bubble storm at cousin Jackson's 4th birthday party at the end of August!!

9 Month photo shoot

I got my pictures taken last Saturday (Sept. 11th) for my 9 month photo shoot. I took my Halloween costume and got some poses for the awesome October holiday. The pictures should be back any day now and I can't wait to share them here. Keep checking back for updates...

9 month check-up

I saw Dr. Brown today for my 9 month check-up. I now weigh 21 lbs and I am 29 inches tall! Dr. Brown says I am growing fabulously and I am healthy as can be. I got only one shot... influenza. I cried for a second, but then the nurse put a silver, shiny, diva band-aid on my leg and that made everything okay. Next check-up, December 15th for my 12 month visit (even though I will have already been 12 months for a full week at that point). :)

Clap with my hands!

Since I was three months old I could clap with my feet, but about a month ago I figured out how to clap with my hands! I love clapping with my hands.

I like to practice walking too!

Not only can I crawl up the steps, but with mom's help, I can also practice walking up them. This is fun!

I can crawl up the steps all by myself!

I have been crawling for a while now, but today I mastered the steps all by myself. I am so proud. Jewel and Bayler motivate me to get up the stairs so I can talk to them. I love my puppy ponies!!

On the move now...

I am on the move now. Today I crawled all over the house and started learning how to crawl up the stairs. Mom and dad always supervise me closely, but I am getting the hang of getting up the steps pretty quickly. Mom says going down will be a whole different story. I like to chase Bayler and Jewel around the kitchen. They are still getting used to the fact that I can move around all by myself now. But I'm breaking them in slowly. When I find the flip I will post some video of my mobile self. Chow.

I have a tooth!

I cut my first tooth today. It is the lower front tooth on the right. I have had a little fever since yesterday and my gums are a bit sore, but all in all, it is a very exciting day! I am thrilled to have a tooth and I can't wait to show it to my friends and family.

6 Month Photo Shoot

I got my pictures taken two weeks ago and the photo shoot was a success. These are just a few of the best images, but all of them turned out great. Ms. Sara at Little Ones Rock is wonderful. We had such a good time I am going to go back in a few months to get my 9 month pics taken. Cameras are fun!

My food for the week

Mom and dad make my food and it is so flavorful. Here is what's on the menu for this week.

I can crawl on the 4th of July!

Saturday, July 3, 2010

LFH hosted a 4th of July parade just for me!

My funky little neighborhood hosted a 4th of July parade today and the excitement was overwhelming. Mom, dad and I went to the corner of our street and watched the festivities. Then we followed everyone to the park where we had watermelon and listened to good music. We sang the national anthem and watched the kids, dogs, and drum line. I snacked on watermelon then fell asleep in mom's arms. I love a parade.

MRSA - Yuck!

I have a staph infection and have been to the doctor 3 times this week. Mom says I'm giving her a good scare, but I really don't mean to. A spot on my chest got infected then it spread to my eye. I am healing now, but a cough has set in. I sure hope all of these issues clear up this weekend. I am scheduled to have my 6 month photo shoot Sunday. I am so excited I can hardly sleep. I don't know what to wear, but I'm sure I'll find something cute. I love shopping with my mom. I'll post pics as soon as I have them.

My First Bites

I turned 6 months old yesterday and I started eating solid foods. Technically, I ate my first food Sunday, but don't tell Dr. Brown that I started 2 days early. My first food was avocado and it was delicious. I love the bright color and the smooth texture of the fruit. I'll try to upload the video, but blogger is not cooperating so hopefully the technical difficulties will be resolved soon.

I have been eating solid food for 3 days now and so far I have tried the following: avocado, jasmine brown rice cereal (with and without blueberries), kale, kale juice, zucchini, squash, green beans, carrots, carrot juice, and spinach juice. All foods and juices prepared fresh in home by my dear ole' dad, his handy juicer, and the BEABA baby food maker. I love this new world of food and I have willingly accepted everything mom has offered to me. On the menu tomorrow is carrots, spinach and cereal with blueberries. Video footage up soon... I hope.

Happy Birthday Uncle Pete & Uncle Dylan!!!

I had a blast hanging out with both of you over Memorial Day weekend and I can't wait to see you again. I hope both of you had a wonderful birthday!!

Happy Birthday Wishes

Sippy cup.

I have been practicing with my sippy cup. Mom put some carrot juice in it the other day, but I had a little trouble getting it out. She helped by taking the top off and I just drank straight from the cup... no sippy. Then she juiced some fresh celery and I liked that too. I can't wait to start solid food next week. It looks like I will be trying avocado first. Mom is going to juice fresh spinach for me to try with it. I am so excited!
