I can hold my own bottle!

I have been working hard at work this week. Today I learned how to hold my bottle and feed myself. In the video above, my assistant, Ms. Tia is holding me, but I have my bottle by myself. I grabbed a hold of it while she was serving it to me, and she let go. I can hold my own bottle now! If you notice, Ms. Tia's hand is not on the bottle. I think I'm ready to start walking next...

Dallas Arboretum 4/24/10

I went to the Dallas Arboretum this weekend! Aunt Melanie has a friends and family pass so I will be visiting the beautiful flowers lots this year. We strolled around the park and even saw the reflecting pool. A lot of other people had the same idea yesterday, it was really crowded. The sun was shining and the temperature was just right. I caught some rays and got my picture made with mom and Aunt Mel (see above). I can't wait to go back with my dad and my Embee soon!! XO

4 Month Check-up

I went to see Dr. Brown Friday for my 4 month check-up. The shots weren't so bad, but he checked my ears for infection since I am stuffy and he had to dig lots of ear wax out of my left ear. It made me really mad. We joked about saving all my wax and giving it to aunt Melanie since her ears don't produce much wax.

Anyway, I now weigh in at 16 lbs 12 oz, and I am 25 3/4 inches tall. I am in the 95th percentile for height and weight. Dr. Brown says my growth is excellent, especially since I only eat mommy's milk. I am getting ready for mushy foods though. I have been practicing chewing (with my gums, I don't have actual teeth yet), and I have been showing mom and dad how I can move my tongue from the front to the back of my mouth in preparation to swallow real food. My mom and dad are getting ready too, we got a machine called BEABA that makes baby food. My dad is really excited to use it. Only 6 more weeks. I can't wait. My first green food is going to be mushed edamame. YUM!

Sick Day *AKA* Fun with DAD!

I spent the entire day with dad today. I am sick with a cough, congestion and a little bit of a fever so after going to see Dr. Foster this morning (where I ran into my 6 month old friend Claire), I called in sick. Ms. Linda and Ms. Margaret said to get better and they'll see me later this week. They are my assistants and they'll take care of things while I am out of the office. Dad and I had a great time, except for a little mishap with my bottle. He tried to feed me several times, but there was a piece of a paper towel stuck under the nipple and I couldn't get any milk. Finally, when dad figured it out I was able to eat and that made me very happy. Even though I'm a little under the weather, it was still a great day with dad!! xo

"Crying it out" and Rolling Over

I can roll over. Tonight mom put me down on my back (as recommended by Dr. Brown, my pediatrician), and I was so sad about bedtime, that I rolled over onto my stomach and ended up in this position. Grandpa Herbie calls this "scrunchy butt," which is an accurate descriptor for the way I am sleeping. I know mom hated to let me "cry it out," but it wasn't so bad. I only fussed for about 4 minutes. It wasn't so bad. Sweet dreams everyone!! xo

Easter 2010

Today was Easter Sunday. I had a great time looking at all of the decorated eggs at Embee's house. I can't wait to hunt them next year! I love my Easter dress. We took lots of pictures and my mom ate some yummy dinner that I will get later. Me, my mom, my Embee and my big Mema took a four generations hand picture. I think it turned out pretty great! Happy Easter. xoxo
